ABOUT / SIGNAL 1379

Listen carefully before you answer.

AI1379 is an independent editorial directory for the AI internet. We monitor products, organize what they can do, verify public evidence, and keep every published record open to correction.

01 / THE NAME

Why 1379?

The name is a literary reference to the listener at Post 1379 in Liu Cixin’s novel The Three-Body Problem. In the story, a lone listener detects a signal from Earth and chooses to send a warning rather than turn that signal into an opportunity.

For this directory, 1379 is a reminder: receiving a signal is not the same as understanding it. Before amplifying a product, claim, or trend, someone should stop, examine the evidence, and accept responsibility for the answer.

02 / ABOUT US

A maintained map of a fast-moving internet.

01AI products appear, change direction, rebrand, and disappear quickly. Search results can find pages, but they rarely explain whether a product is still active, what it is actually for, or why it belongs beside another product.

02AI1379 exists to do that slower work. We build a navigable taxonomy, maintain one canonical record per product, publish evidence and verification dates, and revise listings when reality changes. We are a directory, not a storefront, awards program, or pay-to-rank marketplace.

03 / THE WORK

Machines observe. People remain accountable.

Automation helps us cover a large and changing field, but publication and editorial responsibility do not belong to an unattended system.

  1. 01

    Machines screen

Automated checks watch links, collect candidate signals, and surface records that need another look.

  2. 02

    The community contributes

Anyone may submit a product or report a problem. A submission is evidence to review, never a guarantee of inclusion.

  3. 03

    Editors decide

People confirm identity, category, evidence, wording, and publication status, with important decisions kept auditable.

04 / THE 1379 RULE

Principles for every inclusion.

These rules apply to products, contributors, commercial relationships, and our own editorial work.

  1. 01

    Verify before amplifying

Product claims should match observable behavior and public evidence. When evidence is weak, we say so.

  2. 02

Natural order is not for sale

Sponsorship, affiliate revenue, and submitter identity cannot purchase inclusion or change natural placement.

  3. 03

    Show uncertainty honestly

Low-evidence records receive clear states and plain-language reasons, not falsely precise confidence.

  4. 04

    Maintain after publication

Broken links, major changes, reports, and new evidence trigger review, correction, watch status, or removal.

THE SIGNAL CONTINUES

A useful directory is a promise to keep listening.
